Genre-based radio stations
Genre based radio such as Slacker. I'd like to be able to listen to radio stations of pre-selected and updates songs, such as top 20, alternative, classic rock, etc.
Basically, create a slacker-like radio station interface using the MOG catalogue.
We hope you guys are digging this! We launched it last month. All the best, Zoë [Community Manager]

Hey guys, thanks for your comments requesting this awesome feature to be added to our mobile apps. We probably won't be adding this to MOG mobile. The reason is, Beats By Dre acquired our company last year and we are building a new music service for which MOG will serve as a foundation. Genre radio is on the roadmap for inclusion in the mobile experience of this new service.
This acquisition is actually huge for us and great for our listeners, because we have the resources now to build a lot of the features into the new service that we were not able to build into MOG. The executive team that is overseeing the vision of this new service includes Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine, Ian Rogers (our new CEO, who came from Topspin), and Trent Reznor (our chief creative officer). These guys have the best interest at heart for both our listeners and the artists, and we're really excited about what we're working on. We appreciate your patience as we get this new service ready for you guys! It will include the deep catalog and high audio quality you are used to with MOG, but will have a beautiful new interface and lots of amazing stuff I can't quite talk about yet. Please add it to the iPhone app -- I believe that many people (including myself) are listening mostly using their mobile devices rather than their home computers, especially with the airplay support that Apple provides.

I just noticed this when I hovered my mouse over an album genre and noticed it was clickable. Very awesome you guys! Thanks for finally implementing this, it really takes MOG to a new level and on equal footing as the leading music streaming services.

I had placed an email to customer support regarding this and was suggested to put it here as well, so I will add this:
Hi,
I have a request for some app functionality. I use an ipod touch 5GIt would be nice if radio on the ios app could do more than one artist. On the app, you can only pick one artist after an album plays. It would be great to have a playlist with say, 5 artists and the radio pulls from those 5 artists. or if there are 10 bands on your playlist that is the pool for your radio. Slider could work the same way as it already does
Also browsing by genre on ios app, thus genre radio would be great. The web player allows this, why not the app? For example, on the browser player you can browse by genre and sub-genre and click a sub-genre of "goth radio" and have a fantastic radio station. On the app, if you want "goth radio" for example, you must pick only one band from that genre and use, say, "Bauhaus" to get "Bauhaus" radio of one band from the sub-genre but not the whole sub-genre.
Also, why not just "rock" radio, etc. Radio by the more broad genre that then includes all sub-genres? should be do-able, right?
Thanks

I agree, the genre stations are really needed for the Roku app, Squeezebox and Sonos. I personally use the Roku app and Squeezebox to feed my house audio system, so the ability to do it on the web doesn't do me any good. I'm sure you are working on this.. Any estimated timeframe when it will be available? Thanks.

I love the way the feature is implemented in the MOG desktop application for Mac. The combination of genere based radio and the personal recommendation based on tracked I listened to is great.
Unfortunately, this feature is next to useless for me, as I'm using almost only the mobile app (for iPhone in my case), that does not seem to have this feature.
Moreover, there is no way to add a radio station to your favorite, so I cannot even use the desktop app to store genere-based stations and then play them on my iphone.Any idea when this feature is coming to the mobile app? Or at least a feature that allows to add Radio stations to your favorite, that can work around this problem for a while?

Glad to see this finally implemented! I have a comment, it would be great to have the ability to play a radio station based on the higher level genre and not have to pick a sub-genre before listening to music. Sometimes broader is good :)

This would be a great feature, I chose MOG over Rhapsody because of sound quality, but i miss the genre based stations and have considered going back because of that. Also when developing this feature please make sure it 100% compatible with Sonos.
Thanks.

Why has this been so late to implement? This is the number one reason that I haven't upgraded to Primo and am still using the basic plan.
