Public API for programmers
An API for incorporating MOG into third party programs would be useful.

Make sure to include access to Browse by Genre, in addition to all the other standard 'browse by' features available today.

What about the ability to interface with your ITUNES Library - not recreate it, but have the ability to play Albumns as a library option - similiar to that of SONOS?

Mog needs to sync up with songkick, where favorited artists automatically get added to the artists you track in Songkick so you know when they will be in town.

I would also love to see an update to this one - if you guys can't get the resources together to build Windows 8 or Windows Phone apps, open up the API and I'll build it for you! :)

Maybe I am reading this incorrectly but has this feature been in the planned state since June of 2010? Can anyone provide a status update on this feature?

Just do the same as Lastfm API - make it better than Spootify API

First priority - an API to get Artist, Track, Playlist, Tags info please.
Second - get aggregated info e.g. users (or group) top Artists, Tracks, recently played
Third - ability to post e.g.Playlists, Tags, Favourites -

This could server two purposes. The first being what others have mentioned and the second would be to allow Linux users to create a desktop client that uses MOG. As the MOG team doesn't want to develop one, having an api for accessing the music would most certainly produce a Linux client or several.

MOG is now returning <<50>> results to the website: http://www.musicsmasher.net/. (See my prior post). Come on, MOG, tell us what's going on, make what you have done public, at least in beta form!!!

I would start writing a WP7 app tomorrow if this was available! I love my mog, and I love my new WP7 phone, would be a match made in heaven.

Did MOG release a limited or beta API? Music Smasher seems to be able to get 3 songs at a time while it searches multiple music streaming sites at once for artist, etc: http://www.musicsmasher.net/ If anyone can figure out how to get access to this API, please post it here!

Mog really needs a public API to be a viable long term music library service. I have yet to see any feature additions to the web player since I joined months ago. I love the web player, catalog and audio quality, but I would like to create a native gnome app.

There is no way that MOG programmers can keep up with all of the improvements that their customers want. Release the API and MOG lovers will do for you...free!

Mog has the best library around. But a lack of public API (and playlist sharing) keep it from being the best service out there.

Would definitely like to see an API opened up so that others could create Linux Desktop applications.

I prefer your service/catalog over spotify, but without an API there's no hope for support in apps like Clementine. I'd like to be able to stream your tracks alongside my local music, in a native app.
I'll come back when you guys get this developed.

@caforang I hear that. I actually left MOG and tried Rdio for a few months to see if the Public API would make it a better service. MOG still has it beat in terms of interface and catalog (for now) and I am proud to be a subscriber, but a Public API would bring MOG light years ahead of the competition.

Agreed. I did a big side by side trial of the Big 3 when I was debating which to do. Mog's catalog and radio made it a pretty easy choice comparing the actual core systems. But some of the 3rd party innovation made it REALLY close.

If we get a API, then we can make awesome apps to support the service, and take hassle off your engineers.
