Hey everyone, thanks for watching this idea. The new music service that we are building will include rich social & sharing tools, so I’m keeping the status of this as “Planned” even though we will not be building this into MOG. Thanks for your patience!

I've been using Spotify and love all the functionality. Being able to share and import/export playlists would save me a lot of hours of searching.

I have recently switched from using Rdio, I switched because MOG has a better catalog, but I miss the social features of Rdio and once this feature is active I may be able to get some friends to switch to Mog as well!

What good does it, for a member to make their playlist public, when you cannot find a
place on the mog site to play a member's playlist. -

I agree! one reason i have not quit spotify. I want to see what my friends are listening to, what their playlists are which i can subscribe to, send tracks, albums, playlists to friends. & even collaborate on playlists.

This, along with playlist importing from other services, is the main reason I haven't moved over from Spotify. Please include these functionalities, MOG!

I guess I'm not running with the pack on this one. I was a paying member of MOG for about 6 months. I quit because I discovered you were tracking my use of MOG even though I had all of the social settings set to private. That's a violation of trust.
Less than a week after I quit MOG, you sent me a "Please come back, it's free now." I was pissed that you were violating my privacy before, now I can't even listen unless I allow you and Facebook to abuse me together. No way!

Could not agree more. I still use Spotify because of the ease of playlist sharing and collaboration. I give my subscription money to Mog because I like the better quality, but I really really wish Mog had better playlist collaboration and sharing.

Yes! This is the main reason I still use Spotify in addition to Mog - it's still the best way to send particular songs or playlists to a friend. But I also would like to share playlists or top artists publicly - I didn't have many friends on Mog with the old system, but I still hope something like that returns. I'm fine with it leveraging FB, but I'd also like something outside of FB - seeing it in my feed shouldn't be the only way to see what people are listening to. And I definitely hope you guys do Google+ at some point as well.

FMR: Enable sharing of playlist to friends inside and outside of my networks.
I am a loyal MOG user and just looked at spotify. I think they are too late in the US but please can you get this sharing feature quickly to ensure that thy dont catch-up to MOG.

You guys better get on it! I have been trying Spotify and love this feature. Sending to friends etc. It almost appears as if you are behind now.

I know that I can just copy and paste a song or artist's url to a friend via email/facebook/etc. I think it would be most beneficial to be able to click a "share" link next to a song/album/artist and then have "people who follow me" show up. Then I can select whoever it is I would like the music to go to.

Should be totally independent of social networking sites. Apart from that, since facebook connect is now supported, i'd like to see Google + integration as well.

This feature would be great; as long as gift subscriptions were implemented at a similar time, I could finally get my friends on here, and simultaneously recommend music to them ;)

As a LaLa refugee, myself and my music buddies quickly caught on and used the mogmail feature to keep up chats and to send song reco's to each other. While it was a pain to have to go to the song page and copy the url to send, it worked. And now without mogmail, how am I supposed to SHARE new finds with friends? How will friends reco great songs to me? Without reco's from people or search by genre, Mog is little like going to the record store and only looking at the same stuff I already know.

Although it would probably be complicated, it would also be awesome if this feature could be facebook integrated. So that if someone wanted to share a song or playlist with them they could quickly do it by selecting their friends on facebook.
It would also allow the site to spread virally as people sign-up to make their own playlists.

I screencasted a tour through the Lala site the morning before it was shutdown by Apple:
In the early moments of the video I showed how members exchanged recos and how they acted on those recommendations in order to quickly audition new music there.

Echo peacerocker, this feature was on another site and enabled me to discover much new music, as well as share my findings with other fellow music lovers.
