Multiple Artist Seed Radio
[was: ] Seed Radio with more than one band/artist
Maybe its an existing feature, in which case the UI might stand some improving. If I could seed the radio with multiple artists or, even better, a playlist, that would be leave me with no more reason to use Pandora. I enjoy the radio most for music discovery.
Hey all, we recently launched genre radio in our web app, which I realize isn’t the same thing as what’s being proposed here, but thought you guys might be interested in trying it out. We probably won’t be building this feature into MOG, but will keep it under consideration for the new music service we’re building (for which MOG will serve as a foundation). Thank you for your feedback!

People are still using Pandora mainly for this feature. Myself and others I know will most likely cancel our Mog accounts because you guys don't offer this. I understand that this feature is probably not Mog's bigger purposes but if you expect people to pay monthly you should consider creating it. Thanks for hearing us on this.

Very exciting news - what an extremely talented team they have put together. Any estimate when the new service will be launched? In the news release it states this summer, or the end of 2013.

Hi Anonymous - I do not know yet if genre radio is coming to mobile as we're focusing our resources on the new mobile apps.
Hi theophan - If you're having issues with our Squeezebox integration, please email support@mog.com so we can help you troubleshoot.

Beats By Dre acquired our company last year and we are building a new music service for which MOG will serve as a foundation. This is actually huge for us and great for our listeners, because we have the resources now to build a lot of the features into the new service that we were not able to build into MOG. The executive team that is overseeing the vision of this new service includes Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine, Ian Rogers (our new CEO, who came from Topspin), and Trent Reznor (our chief creative officer). These guys have the best interest at heart for both our listeners and the artists, and we're really excited about what we're working on. We appreciate your patience as we get this new service ready for you guys! It will include the deep catalog and high audio quality you are used to with MOG, but will have a beautiful new interface and lots of amazing stuff I can't quite talk about yet. When will the genre radio be available for Ipad/IPhones? Also, can you share any information about the new music service you are building? Will this replace MOG?

This feature is extremely important to me. I am seriously considering canceling my MOG subscription because I find that I often just want a Pandora style radio station playing in the background, but MOG's radio feature is horrible. It has no sense of the way one track will sound after another and it frequently throws in some horrible B side tracks from an artist that just was filling the extra space on their CD.
A single MOG radio station should be able to include Artists, Albums, and individiual Tracks that I have chosen, as well as an entire Genre. Then I should be able to save that station as a permanent radio station that shows up in my account, and when a song comes up in the station that I dislike, I should be able to turn it off so I will never hear it again in that station.
Plain and simple, these are the features Pandora has and I dont think it is that out of the question that they be implemented in MOG. DO EEEET please. Or if you cannot figure it out BUY PANDORA RADIO. ;)

No, that's not it at all. That's a single artist seed. The station is created with artists based from one artist/song.
What is being asked for here is a station seeded (created from) multiple artists that aren't necessarily similar.

I found it! It is just hard to figure out in their interface. First you go to an artist's page and click on the artist radio on the left. Then you go to the play queue and see MOG Radio with a slider from artist only to similar artists. This is the feature most of us are looking for.
A radio station based off of a playlist would be pretty cool though.

I'm new to MOG- still in the free-trial period- and I'm very disappointed that this is not an option. Seems pretty basic. I probably won't follow through with a subscription because of this.

I too would like this. As others note, this is the only shortcoming versus Pandora that I see. Make it happen, MOG. Please.

Rhapsody has multiple artist radio capability. You can only set up such channels in their desktop software and are limited to 10 artists per channel. Once set up, however, these channels sync to the web player and mobile apps. The other nice thing about Rhapsody radio is that they apparently have radio licences with artists that do not allow their music to stream on-demand but do allow streaming. So you can set up custom stations that play songs by those artists

I agree with the other comments. Please set up radio stations like Pandora. Then we will have no need for them.

The lack of this feature is the only thing keeping me from setting up a permanent subscription and ditching pandora forever! C'mon MOG, get it together!

I would love to see this designed to work off of playlists. I could fire off a radio station based off all the songs in a playlist. That gives the flexibility to be as diverse as you like.

Would love to see this feature completed... wonder if there's been any progress.
